Miami hotel project: 5-month delay and $42k in change orders because the designer ordered counter-height stools for a bar-height counter.
Quick rule:
Counter (34–39") → 24–26" seat
Bar (40–42") → 29–32" seat
Spectator (44–47") → 33–36" seat
Plus always leave 10–12" knee clearance or you fail ADA.
